Coming into the Forum and preparing the day before we wrote our main talking points and main things to say when we were presenting. When we got all set up in the gym ready to present everything was working perfectly with all of the wires but all of a sudden the vibration motor wires fell out so we had to go solter them to the motor. With only about 2 minutes until the time we were supposed to present to all of the parents we got everything back together and it started work. Overall the forum went really well and it was a lot of fun. After the forum where we had presented our dog harness was very successful, we got a lot of great positive feedback about our prototype and our presentation.

Our final product is a dog harness that includes 2 sensors and 2 vibrating motors . When someone approaches the dog the motion sensor will trigger the vibrator motors which will connect the handle of the harness. This will let the blind or visually impaired person to know if someone is approaching their guide dog. The data taught us that people who said no to buying our product were concerned that in crowded areas for example in New York or Los Angeles were usually the streets are crowded. They didn't want it to constantly go off while people walked by. They were concerned that it would be a distraction to the blind person and potentially the guide dog. We could of reached out to people who struggle with people touching their guide dog. In our feedback we learned the concerns that people had for our product. The people who took our survey tried to put themselves in the blind peoples shoes and imagine the product different scenariosWe are finally here! After a long process of figuring out what our problem would be and how we can fix that, we have finally started to implement our solution! We have decided to create a harness for guide dogs that will have PIR Motion sensors attached to the side of the harness. One of the biggest problems that guide dogs have is how people will come up to them and pet their guide dog. Guide dogs should never be distracted while on duty and this will help prevent this. When someone comes up to the dog to pet it then the PIR sensors will send a vibration to the vibration motor in the handle, that way they blind can tell the person not to pet their dog. This has been very hard for us because we had to figure out how to code and then send the code to the chip to code the PIR Sensors. This has been a group effort and it is so fun working with my friends. Both India and Jack were out of school for long periods of time and it was hard to have to explain everything over again. How I fixed this was i started giving people things to do when their out to help keep them updated. Is really helped because then when people came back they knew exactly what to work on. Once it is created, we will send a survey out asking people how effective they think this will be. We will also interview 2 or 3 people to personally figure out what they think about our design.
At the beginning of this project we came up with a great problem and we thought we were on the right track. We started going along and figuring out our solution but we realized that what we were trying to build wasn’t a reasonable goal for us to complete. We started coming up with more ideas but none of them seemed to work. So eventually we had to change our problem a little bit so that we could figure a solution out that would be reasonable to finish in the period of time. Once we found our idea for this harness we jumped right in. We are almost done wit the prototype and we have finished all of our documents needed. We are starting to feel a little more prepared considering how far behind we were. As moving forward in this project there are a lot of things that we need to consider with not only our project but also how we work with each other so that we can be as productive as possible. I think that we have done some really great work in the past week and if we continue to keep this up then we will have a finished and amazing prototype in the end!
